Peter Howard
co-Owner

Jay Sackrider

Jay is a Petoskey/Harbor Springs area native and is a co-owner of McBride Custom Homes. Jay started his career under the guidance of a true master craftsman (His Father) and decided very quickly that he wanted to own his own construction company. Jay has always believed in an employee-first company that ultimately creates the best experience for everyone involved in the project. With a proper work/life balance, clients and families are never compromised. Jay knows that owning a successful company is only possible with an excellent support team. His wife, Dallas, and two sons, Gavin & Grady, are a true driving force that helps keep true success in focus. One of the true joys is creating lifelong partnerships as we create inspiring homes/spaces for generations to come.

Co-Owner

Aaron Cummings

Aaron is a co-owner of Mcbride Custom Homes, with twenty eight years of experience in the construction industry Aaron is inspired to create dream homes for people in the town that he grew up in. His passion for quality work is supported by his value of honesty and trust with clients, subcontractors, and co-workers alike. He believes that building these relationships is a vital part of business as well as life.  His favorite part of the home construction process is starting with a client's vision and seeing that take shape and become a reality. Being able to hand over something that was once just a dream is very rewarding for him. When he is not in the office Aaron loves spending time golfing, boating, and traveling with his wife Ashley. They  love to enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer.

Director of Design and Estimating

Paul Drayer

Paul joined the McBride team in 2018 as our production coordinator and ascended quickly to the role of Lead Designer. He has over four years of experience in construction and over 23 years in home design, with a Bachelor of Science from the U of M School of Architecture.

Believing that collaboration plays a key role in the design process, Paul enjoys working with the client to create a design that meets their needs. He partners with clients through the design process to ensure their expectations are not only met but exceeded.

Paul serves on the board of trustees for the Harbor Springs Library, holds the position of committee chairman of Scouts Troop 55, and is also a Knights of Columbus member. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their three kids and volunteering for their various extracurricular activities.

Production Manager

Mike Sackrider

Production Manager Mike Sackrider joins McBride Custom Homes bringing close to 40 years of experience as a licensed builder. He worked for a family business as well as owned his own company. Mike is a great asset to our team and shows endless dedication to the projects he works on.

When he’s not on the job site making our clients dreams a reality, he can be found enjoying the beautiful views of Northern Michigan and biking with his wife.

Lead Estimator

Greg Pieknik

While studying Business Administration in Finance and Law at Saginaw Valley State University, Production Manager Greg Pieknik worked framing homes — a path that would eventually lead him to McBride. The dedication, sense of responsibility, and leadership skills gained from his time in the National Guard help him excel at organizing and overseeing homeowners’ projects from start to finish.

In his free time, Greg enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Greg is also an avid conservationist and horticulturist and is working on methods to grow vegetables for his family year-round in Northern Michigan.

Director of Cleaning Services

Carrie Lane

With over 30 years of housekeeping experience Carrie is ready to dive in to keep our clients homes in tip top shape! With a strong attention to detail and goal setting attitude she will work directly with you to make sure that your home is receiving all of the cleaning services that you need. Carrie has lived in Northern Michigan since 2010 and enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. She has four daughters, two son in-laws, and four grandchildren that all keep her traveling and on her toes.

Property Management Coordinator

Curt Bartz

Curt brings more than 30 years of experience and remodeling know-how to his job as project coordinator. He has a proven track record of effectively ordering and scheduling materials and installations for projects to keep them on time and on budget. 

When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time outdoors picking blackberries, camping with his family, and deer hunting on Drummond Island.

Patrick Kerr

Pat is from Charlevoix, MI and began working for McBride in August as a Property manager, bringing with him over 26 years of production supervision for East Jordan Iron Works, as well as experience in building, painting, and handyman work. After graduating high school, Pat joined the army and served 8 years as a M1A1 Tank crewman, also serving in operation desert shield and desert storm.

Mandy Caverly

Born, raised, and currently a resident of Boyne City, Mandy has deep-rooted ties to her community. With 25 years of experience in the medical industry across various roles including clinical, management, and finance, she brings a wealth of expertise and insight. She has a degree in Organization Management and is set to complete her master’s in finance and accounting by December 2024.

Driven by her internal motivation to excel, she prioritizes building trusting relationships with both employees and clients alike. She understands the stress and complexity of financial investments in any project, and strives to alleviate that burden through open communication and trust.

Outside of her work, Mandy’s greatest joy comes from her family. She is married with two boys and one girl, who inspire her to strive for the best version of herself everyday. Whether spending time at home or enjoying the outdoors, family remains her favorite pastime.

Administrative Assistant

Lindsey Ostrowski

Lindsey was born and raised in Traverse City and has spent the last few years working in administrative roles. She spends her summers on the water and enjoys snowboarding in the winter months. Lindsey recently moved to the Petoskey area and joined the McBride team as our administrative assistant. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her dog Maisy.

Office Manager

Marissa Cordova

Marissa was born and raised in the Petoskey area. She joined the McBride team as our Administrative Assistant in June 2024 and is currently our Office Manager. She has a background in healthcare which has equipped her with strong multi-tasking and communication skills. Marissa knows that first impressions are vital in any interaction and is dedicated to creating the best experience from the moment clients enter the building or pick up the phone to call McBride.

When she is not at work, you will find Marissa exploring local trails with her three dogs, Willis, Angus, and Moose, fishing off the boat, and spending time with her friends and family enjoying all that Northern Michigan has to offer.

Zeke Short

A native to the area, Zeke began working for McBride as a lead carpenter in 2024. Zeke has been in the construction field since he graduated high school. His favorite part of his day-to-day is bringing the homeowners’ ideas to life and seeing the happiness that follows as a result of such. Zeke is dedicated to his work and makes sure the job at hand gets finished not only on time, but to the highest standards as well. When not working, Zeke can be found spending time with his wife, and daughter. He also enjoys spending time in the woods and fishing in the surrounding lakes, any chance he gets.

Carpenters Helper

Jamie Lentz

Raised in Northern Michigan Jamie has been working for the team since 2021. He enjoys the ever changing and fast paced environment that keeps him doing something new every day. He enjoys working with his team here at McBride. When he is not working Jamie enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy and dog Junior. He loves spending time friends, and helping out others whenever he can.

Property Management

Scott Morse

Scott is a 5th generation local who was born and raised in Harbor Springs. After playing college baseball for Concordia University Ann Arbor, Scott spent many years coaching baseball in Harbor as a way to give back to his community. Scott brings with him ten years of building experience and property management experience. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Morgan, and his daughter, Finley. He also enjoys fishing, hunting, taking walks and kayaking the sturgeon river, and just being a part of nature.

Painter

John Broman

A part of our painting team, John has been painting for various companies since 2002 and has been with us since May of 2022. His efficiency and attention to detail makes him a great part of the team. He spends his free time hanging out with his wife Beth and his dog Rocky. He enjoys golf, hunting, and going to concerts.

Carpenters Helper

Jeffery Guilford

Originally from southern Alabama Jeff moved to Northern Michigan last year and has been working on learning as much as he can within the construction industry. In his spare time he enjoys rock hunting and fishing as well as spending time with his wife and his family.
